Eilat city shceme
A new city scheme for 50,000 inhabitants.
Eilat, the southern gate to Israel, depends on the tourism development along the Eilat bay shoreline. Its uniqueness derives from its topography (a city built on the mountains slopes), its desert climate and the panoramic bay view.
Planning highlights:
-Shifting the residential center southward, closer to the Bay Shore – the city’s “main theme”.
-Shifting the main road westward to the direction of the Shlomo Stream route.
-Modifying the airport area purpose and making it a main urban center and hotel zone, stretched around the lagoon, where tourism and residence would co-exist.
A detailed scheme for the north-eastern district of the city.
A detailed scheme for the north-western district of the city, functioning as golf, polo and other sports area.
A detailed scheme for the city’s main urban center (the airport area) that includes:
Hotels: 2,500 hotel rooms.
Civic center: 10,000 sq.m
Commerce/ office: 32,500 sq.m
Residence: 1,000 res. Units
Public, education and research institutions: 10,000 sq.m
Intermodal terminal (train, bus), sporting and recreation area.
